Interesting birth announcement
an interesting birth announcement in the sunday paper. A baby girl named Pepper.
When I saw this name I thought of the character from the Iron Man comics, which lead me to think about Gwyneth Paltrow for she protrayed Peper in the new Iron Man movie. This then made me think of Paltrow's daughter Apple.
So I have to ask - wouldn't Apple and Pepper be a perfect sibset? What do you think of both names?

I think I would either sneeze or take a bite : )
Pepper is quirky, but that kid is in for it when she goes to school. I know kids get teased for just about anything, but naming the girl Pepper is just tempting the other kids; there will be Dr. Pepper jokes, sneezing as she walks past them, asking for someone to please pass the pepper, etc. They will get creative, trust me.
Apple isn't that much better. In fact, I always hated the name; it rhymes too much with a**hole to me.

It's awful. It looks vaguely stripper-ish and anyway I dislike names that are associated with food (and no, it's not the same for Rosemary and Clementine).
Apple is a bit of a GP however, but I can't see it on anyone other than a celeb's kid.

I don't think it's cool to name your children after food! And Pepper reminds me of the annoying Neighbours character who went by that name (although she was actually Heidi)

I know of two, both with bad last names
One is Pepper Trail, a man, who wrote an article for my local paper.
The other is Pepper Schwartz, who's a sex columnist.
It's adorable as a nickname (Penelope nn Pepper would be irresistable!) but it's cringe-worthy as a real first name.

I don't think I'd use these for sisters myself.
I always think of Pepper Schwartz when I see the name Pepper. She is a sociologist who has done very well-respected academic research, though she also is now involved with one of the online dating sites, which many social scientists would look at with a bit of skepticism. I had to call her once several years ago about a different issue and couldn't resist asking about her name. At birth she was Judith Schwartz. But in her high school in Toledo, Ohio, there were 3 Judy Schwartzes. So she and her brother thought up Pepper as a new name for her. I believe it is now her legal name.

Pepper seems little too informal to me for an official name, but Dr. Schwartz has done quite well with it.

So she is Dr Pepper...?!
Yes they would make a perfect but idiotic sibset.
I love Pepper on a boy as a NN for Peppermint. Strictly guilty pleasure, though.
I don't think Apple and Pepper go together as a sibset.

Gah. Pepper? Would you seriously want to be called Pepper? I mean, when you introduce yourself to an important person do you really want them to know your name is Pepper? How about when an annoying or threatening person finds out your name and calls you Pepper? Ugh. I think it'd be no better than being named Sugar or Spunky or Fudge any other name that is undignified so as to be more appropriate to a dog.
Apple is not as bad because it's not as cutesy, but the fruit connotation is too sensual for me, yuck. Still, not as bad as Peaches, and has a vague association with sensibleness. It's just kind of an attention grab, which I don't feel patient with on most days.

*headdesk*
As if Poppy was bad enough, we now have little Peppers too.
I named my first goldfish Pepper, but I wouldn't even name a cat Pepper.
Apple isn't even a nice word, let alone a person's name!

Actually there is a commentator on CNN named Poppy Harlowe. I feel really bad for her though- it sounds like a Stripper name.
Mega-ditto

Just by their names..
I can't take any of them seriously.

Oh god, Poppy Moon.. *cringe*
This is true...
It's definately one of the most cutesy flower names out there. But I still love it. Maybe not necessarily to use, but it's fun to play around with in combos and the likes.

I don't like the names as a sibset. Apple is actually a name that I like and that's strange for me...as for Pepper it gets a big NO in my book. When I think of the name Pepper I think of Peppermint Patty off of charlie brown lol. Also, I had a dog name Pepper growing up so I could never use it for my child.
Pepper is cute as a NN, Apple does nothing for me.
Poor children.
