EdmundDesmond reminds me of a really bad guy from a movie I saw as a child. Anyway, Edmund is just all-around classic and great, in my opinion. I've always thought Edmund Anthony was a good combo. That's the only one I can think of right now. I might update with more tomorrow.

Desmond.Edmund sounds a little "nerdy" to me. Also there is the very pitiful nickname of Ed to deal with.Desmond sounds very dashing and handsome. The possible nickname Desi is both cool and cute.

I think Ed bareley qualifies as a name. It reminds more of an onomatopoeia word, such as "thud".

DesmondI love Edmund too, but I have a real soft spot for Desmond. My parents had an Irish friend named Desmond, Des for short. I grew up loving the name. The meaning is perfect for me, "from Munster / Southern Ireland." That's where my mother and paternal grandfather are from. Desmond is my #2 all time favorite, Peter being my #1. Desmond Peter sounds heavenly to me. Desmond Piers too. Others:Desmond Laurence
Desmond Eamonn (= Edmund in Irish)
Desmond Cormac
Desmond Michael
Desmond Francis
Desmond Oliver
Desmond Timothy
Desmond Noel
Desmond Finbarr (another name associated with County Cork, Munster)
Desmond Rory
Desmond Patrick
Desmond Ambrose
Desmond Malachy ("MAL-uh-kee")
Desmond Pascal
Desmond Thomas
