its way high on my favourites list..however i can't decide between Eleanor (so classic and beautiful) and Elinor (cute and different) for spelling.Eleanor Vivienne or Elinor Vivienne is my fave combo

I love Eleanor. It's one of my *top* female names...beautiful, sophisticated, has so many nickname possibilities.

Love it.I plan on using it some day. Hopefully it won't have experienced a popularity surge by the time I have children, because I would rather like for my future children to maintain the individuality of the names I currently have on my list. In my opinion, Eleanor is a very age-appropriate name at any age. I know a couple of "Ellie"s who will probably go by Eleanor when they're adults. (Personally, I wouldn't use Ellie as a nn, but I love Ella. Or Lena. Or Nora.)The biggest reason I fell in love with the name was because of Eleanor of Aquitaine--I did a lot of reading about her after I discovered she's my great (x a bunch) grandmother; she was strong-willed, independent, and rather radical and revolutionary and she is absolutely fascinating.

I love Eleanor. It's gorgeous and not overly popular, but doesn't shout old-fashioned. It also has great nicknames, which is my only problem with the name. I can't decide between Ella, Norie, Nora and all the others...

I love Eleanor (Elinor too). I know a baby Eleanor. :-)

It's nice, but I prefer Nora. It would be nice to see on a little girl as oppose to Kaylee, Kaylynn, and Kaycee.

I know a little girl name Eleanor and at first I didn't care much for it but I must admit that it's starting to grow on me.

I love it and would consider using it when I start having kids. (It honors my grandma.) I haven't heard it on anyone under 65, but I think it's beautiful and definitely "board-popular."

That's because (no offense), it's more of an old lady name. While I do like the song, "Eleanor Rigby" by The Beatles, it's not a name I would use.
