Talysin and Palma...
I was at work today and sometimes when people pay with credit cards their names show up on a slip of paper. Anyways, one womans name was Talysin. I don't know how it's pronounced but I would think it's Allison with a T in front of it. Also, another woman was Palma.
Wdyto Talysin and Palma?

Talysin looks like a misspelling of Taliesin to me, which is pronounced tal-ee-ES-in. Hopefully not though because it's a boy's name. I think it's a neat name because of the mythology, but wouldn't use it. I have friends though who last I knew wanted to name a son this.
Palma is alright.
Palma is alright.
I guess it's a female variant of Taliesin. I really love this name. Though strange to see on a girl, I guess it's not to bad.
Palma just makes me think of Palma de Mallorca, which I wouldn't name my child after ;-)

Palma sounds like someone with a non-rhotic accent saying Palmer. I don't dig it--I think Paloma's cool, though.
Talysin looks like it could be a medicine. I think it's the Y that pushes me that way; Talison / Talisson / Talissen wouldn't be nearly as incongruous to me, for some reason. (I know, I don't get it, either--but I don't think the sound is too off, personally.)

There is a boy on the TV series Child of Our Time called Talysin (don't know how he spells it, but it's pronounced TA-luh-sin).
Palma reminds me of the nasty touristy bit of Spain. Although to be fair, when that woman was names it was probably a really nice area of Spain to be named after.
ETA: The kid on TV is Taliesin, but he doesn't pronounce it the way BtN say.
