love it!I think it's a very handsome name. It's the name of a much loved character of mine who I came up with like ten years ago. As for real life, I would use it as a middle name, but only because it would be to honor my dad's mom, whose middle name was Frances. Unless I had a second daughter first, in which case I'd use the feminine version. :)Consequently, all my combos use it as a MN, so it's kind of weird for me to think of any MN to go with it:Francis Benjamin
Francis Connor
Francis Evan
Francis George
Francis Henry
Francis Michael
Francis Morgan
Francis Oliver
Francis Owen
Francis Rory
Francis Sean
Francis William

I love FrançoisBut Francis, not so much. It's not that I dislike it. It's just like FRAYN-sis when I say it, thanks to my mesh of accents from the midwest and New England. But how about Francis Johnathon, Francis Rowan, Francis Arthur, Francis Leopold, Francis Westley or Francis Carlisle? Wow. Those all look like various European kings to me lol.

I like Francis. Though I have to prefer, I slightly prefer Frances for a girl. I do like Frank as a nn, too. Anyway...I think Francis needs to be paired with something a little "heavier". Let's see if I can think of anything:Francis Cole
Francis Victor
Francis Scott
Francis Zachary
Francis Cade

IckI don't care for the sound of it for either boy or girl. Never have. Francis sounds feminine to me, though.I've known one boy Frances since grade school, but he always went by "Frankie". I think now he tries to go by Frank, but Frankie seems to have stuck with him. It's much better in the mn slot than the fn.Gilbert Francis
Oliver Francis
Michael Francis

I'm not quite sure what I think of the male Francis but I really love the female Frances(my dog's name).
