Veronica? (DH update)
What do think of the name Veronica?I just now realized that it may be the perfect name if we were to have a girl.. It is cross cultural, and I think it would fit her brother's name too.. (Sebastian & Veronica)WDYT?Oh.. last name would be Stock.. does Veronica Stock sound too harsh?(I can get my hopes up for now- until DH vetoes it.. LOL)----UPDATE: I ran the name across DH and he "likes it" but is not like, "wow, great!" So.. I'll keep in in my mind, and perhaps be able to talk him into it (if we ever TTC a girl)

Love it!I really adore this name and I think it's sadly underused. I also think it goes splendidly with Sebastian! Perhaps it will grow on you DH more.

Oh man, I wish your husband were more into this, because it's such a perfect name.Do keep it in mind, because you never know whether he'll warm up to it in the future.

I love the name Veronica but I am afraid people would call her Roni and I really do not like that.
I think it sounds lovely with Sebastian and Veronica Stock sounds fine too.

One of my best friends is named Veronica, and I don't think anyone's every called her Roni, if that's any comfort.

Yeah...I don't think it's a common nn for Veronica and I surely would never call her that, but when I'm not around..who knows..lol

Veronica is my mum's name and it has been growing on me recently, to the extent that I may consider using it as a mn for a daughter one day. It goes very well with Sebastian. And I think it's fine with your surname. My mum's surname is Scott, which is similar, and I've never thought it sounded bad.S xx

I like it! To me, it's very "old Hollywood glamour" - it fits right in with Greta, Marilyn, Scarlett, etc... Also, Sebastian and Veronica are a gorgeous sib set! Honestly, I don't think Veronica Stock sounds too harsh, as long as the MN isn't too masculine or choppy, KWIM?OT: Sebastian is completely adorable! I love your siggy!

I hate it. I find it really ugly sounding and very harsh. Also, Veronica Stock has way too much O sound.

I love VeronicaIt's classic and underused. I know a Veronica, named after the song, (http://youtube.com/watch?v=2FwipC96E6k) and she gave me a great impression of the type of person a Veronica is. I give it the total thumbs up, and I think it sounds great with Sebastian.I don't really like any of the nicknames, though, with the exception of maybe V.

Thank you!most of my fave multi-cultural names are so popular right now (Sophia, Isabel/Isabella, etc).. I love that Veronica is not as popular, unique and still normal :)

One nickname would be Vicky,I had a friend named Veronica once with that nickname.

I'm not a huge fan of Vickie.. maybe I've just known too many older women with that name?

Great sibset! The two names go very well together.

I love Veronica. It's a known classic that is not overly used. Veronica is elegant, timeless and regal. Veronica adn Sebastian sound wonderful together. My grandmother was Catherine Veronica, but everyone called her Vera. My cousin was named after her, but she goes by Rona (which she altered to Rhona to be more Irish.) I know another Veronica who goes by Vee, and I had a babysitter growing up who was called Rocky. (Of course, that was before Sylvester Stallone's movies. I wonder if she kept it up.) Anyway, loads of potential there. Hope your dh likes it too. :-)

LOLVeronica is on my PNL - it is one of my favourite names. I've never gotten the reason people say it sounds harsh. Griselda, Georgia (has grown a lot on me) and Drusilla may sound harsh, but not Veronica. It is an elegant, intelligent and a little melancholic name. I also love its forms Berenice and Berenika. The nickname I'd use is Ronya. But there's one thing that doesn't make me happy - I've read too many books and seen too many films where the main character is a sensitive and shay young Veronica who is hopelessly in love with a handsome young man, or, as an alternative, dates a young man, who dies tragically during the book/film. I'm tired of Veronicas image as a name for an elf-like, "born to be artist" and impressionable lady... :D I know two Veronikas myself - one is an average journalist and another one a Polish tomboy who gets called Vero. And also a lively 8 years old girl.Sebastian and Veronica is a tasteful and upperclassish-sounding sibset. Maybe a little too upperclassish to me, but I still love it. :)

Thanks!I don't think the name Veronica itself is a harsh sounding name.. just maybe with our last name Stock :)
