Beryl
This name was one of the jewel names popular in England and Australia between, roughly, 1900-25. (i know a Beryl born in 1946!). It is the name of a light green precious stone and many name books suggest that Jade is a better option for today's parents to choose.
I don't think Beryl ever caught on in America.
Now that some jewel names like Ruby seem to be on the rise, do you see any chance of a revival for Beryl and what do you think of it?
