WDYT of Abigail?
What do you think of the name Abigail? I don't particularly care for the nickname Abby, but Abigail is beginning to grow on me.
Also, how do you think it sounds as the younger sister of Eleanor "Ella"?

I quite like Abigail and I happen to really like the nn Abby, which I think is somewhat inevitable. Both Eleanor and Abigail and Ella and Abby sound great to me.
It's not in my top ten but I certainly like it. I like Abby - it's cute and friendly.
(Sorry Pink Princess - I didn't realise till later that I'd posted this in the wrong spot!)

I have never cared for Abigail. I always though it sounded like a bird name. It is becomming popular, and I know a young Abigail. I dislike the nn Abby.
I'd much prefer the nn Nora, for Eleanor instead of the nn Ella. Ella is becomming very popular too. I also know a little Ella (but Ella is the full name).

I like Eleanor and Abigail as a sibset...and the combo Eleanor Abigail. I prefer Ellie as a nn for Eleanor but Ella works. I've always liked Abigail and I do love the nn Abby. (The first time I heard the name Abigail was in childhood, from a character in a book who had a ribbon tied around her neck to keep her head from falling off!)
I really like Abigail; it's nowhere near as popular here in NZ as it seems to be in the US, and I've never even met one, so I haven't had the chance to get sick of it. I don't like Abby either, or Gail, which puts me off using Abigail. Bea/Bee might be cute though.
I think Abigail and Eleanor would be a great sibset; I don't think Eleanor needs Ella though, it stands well on its own. Also, if Eleanor had no nn, then it might be easier for Abigail to not be shortened to anything.

sound fine and I love Abigail
I completely and utterly despise the name Abigail. I think it's one of the ugliest names I have ever heard, and its present popularity mystifies me.
I've liked Abigail for a long time (but I do like the nn Abbie). It isn't as popular (at least in my area) as it used to be, but I know it's still up there on the popularity charts. Maybe that doesn't bother you though.
I think it's a sweet, pretty name, and that it would go fine with Eleanor. I love Eleanor too; it's one of my favorites. I prefer the nickname Nora though.

Most people would disagree I guess, since Abigail is a top 10 name, but I am not a fan of the "Gail" sound.
I adore it, but it's really trendy right now. Eleanor and Abigail sounds fine.
