Rutherford
Conversation with my teenage son, Gideon -
"Mom, can I change my name to Rutherford?"
"Like Rutherford B. Hayes?"
"Who?"
"Like the Rutherford Institute?"
"What? No, it's Hank Hill's middle name."
Um, yeah, from the FOX show King of the Hill.
So WDYT? Should I start calling him Rutherford, keep calling him Gideon, or just call him goofy?

I must admit I've never heard of the show. I'd call him Rutherford "Ruth" to humour him personally :) That might snap him out of it!
Lots of kids I know (including myself) went through a thing where they "changed" their names. Some stick, some don't. I sure know Firdausi has always been Naomi to me, but James didn't stay Storm for long *rolls eyes*

Rutherford actually makes me think of the physicist who deduced the structur of the atom.
I think you should call him goofy! It's probably a phase.

Exactly my thought
Especially considering how we mentioned him in history about 3 hours ago.

I was thinking of that too
Since, for what I vaguely remember, it's a measure unit in electricity, you could start calling him Volt.

It is a unit of radioactivity.
