I'm like you. I should like
Jonas better because I tend to like Greek variants over Hebrew ones (ex:
Elias over
Elijah). Plus, I would have thought that Jonah-in-the-belly-of-the-whale would cause me to shy away from the name. But I recently lost my favorite aunt,
Joan, and
Jonah is closer in sound. So that's my favorite between the two.
As for how it sounds with
Oliver,
Clara and
Tobias, you're going to run into a very minor problem with either
Jonah or
Jonas, as you already pointed out. So I wouldn't bother trying to use how the name would sound with the siblings. Either
Jonah or
Jonas match the style of the others beautifully and would work just fine.
