Sadie
Opinions on Sadie please. My sister is expecting a baby in August. She is having a hard time with names but this is her favourite.
WDYT?

My sister is called Sadie and I like it. It is sweet on a little girl, but still classy on an older woman. It ages well.

Don't really care for it. It's nicknamey, looks like "sadist" and reminds me of the Beatles song "Sexy Sadie" so it's weird to imagine it on a child.

I love Sadie, and this is one of the rare "nicknamey" names that I also like as a given name. It's charming and sweet without being cutesy.

I love Sadie. It's classical, but still beautiful on a little girl. She should go for it.

Sadie is pretty sweet but im not 100% keen on it as it still sounds like a nickname.. but I think its very nice.

Love it! Such a classic, classy type of name imo. I think your sister should definitely go with it. It's gorgeous.

I really like Sadie. If I used it, it would be as a nn for Sarah, which I love, but I think it's great on its own too. I'd like to meet a little Sadie.

I love Sadie. Unfortunately, I know a few people who have named their dog Sadie.

I love the name Sadie. I'd use it,but I have a cousin and a second cousin with this name.

Can't picture it on a human, sorry. I've know about 5-6 dogs named Sadie. It's become way overused on pets to me, which makes it even worse to see it on a child.

Ugh, horrible. Bad association. Susan Atkins, the mass murderer, was given the name Sadie by her god, Charles Manson, and that is what she was called by other members of the Family. That is all I can think of when I hear this name. Shudder.
Even if it were not for that, I think it is quite ugly anyway.Edited to add: Atkins has also made me somewhat dislike the name Susan, thought not to the same degree as Sadie.

"Sadie! The cleaning lady!"I'm singing it in my head right now. But idk. It's alright I suppose. I would like to meet one. If I did, I'm sure I would be able to contain myself enough to not sing that flipping song around her.

In a word: dog. Not for a human, sorry. Sarah? Yes. Sadie? No.

I like it as a nickname. I don't like it as a first name - while it's great as a nickname, it's not the type of name that grows, or will work in any situation. While it's cute on a child, I don't think a grown woman would be well serviced with the first name Sadie. According to the site, it's a pet form of Sarah. Perhaps Sarah with the nickname Sadie?

I love the name Sadie and would use it on one of my own children!

Very cute, and it might be able to change with her. However, I can't imagine someone being called Sadie in the working world. I can imagine a young child, even a student, but not someone in the work force.

I know it's popular now, but Sadie has always seemed to me to be a name you'd see mostly on dogs and cats. I can't really picture "Sadie got a 98 on her spelling test" but I can definitely picture "Sadie knows how to sit, stay and roll over."

I adore it (m).Even though the Beatles association isn't really the best, I still love that connection to one of the greatest bands of all time, and I really like the sound and simplicity, even though it isn't too common or boring.

I think it's very cute, but wouldn't use it as a full name. Maybe as a nickname it would be cute, but I don't like Sarah.
