I'm contemplating using this name for a character I'm writing. However, I'm having a difficult time finding a middle name to fit the feel of Valda while also working within the framework of the story.
Valda is a headstrong woman who is looking to make the best of an arranged marriage in a feudal society. She finds favor with the King and becomes friends with his mistress, eventually helping to form the Spymaster's Guild with the King's mistress. She and her husband eventually find mutual respect and love in their relationship, although it was a dicey thing at first.
The names and society draw influence from Western European feudal society. Modern names won't fit - I'm looking for names that have an older medieval feel to them. The majority of the names in the story have English, French, or German etymologies.
So, middle name suggestions? I'm looking for names that sound strong, rather than flowery.
