Calliope?
WDYT? Is it overbearing? Too much to swallow? Too hard to pronounce?
Also:
Noelle - starting to like this again
May - as a mn
Rain - as a mn
Seraphina - a little long but i love it too much
Aurelia - so pretty but I think it's too much to handle even as a mn
Oceane - I have loved it for the longest time but it really doesn't go with anything I come up with
Briar - is it too ugly for a girl?
Noelani - can't get rid of this!
Moana - ditto Noelani

I love Calliope, but I prefer Kalliope (Latinized spellings make me twitch a bit). I don't find it hard to pronounce, but then I guess I'm used to it.
As for the rest, I love Aurelia and Seraphina. I also like Moana and Noelani.

Like some others, I used to mispronounce it, only having seen it written. Now I know, though.
ACtually, what comes to mind is a line from the song"Blinded By The Light"..."the calliope crashed to the ground."
As a name?I probably wouldn't use it, but I kind of like it.

I love Calliope, but I have a feeling that most Americans couldn't spell it or pronounce it, and only think of a merry-go-round.
Noelle - pretty
May - love it, great fn or mn
Rain - GP, good MN
Seraphina - very lovely
Aurelia - love it, but have trouble pronouncing it
Oceane - lovely. great mn
Briar - I used to love it, but now I don't like the sound
Noelani - pretty
Moana - reminds me of the moa, a gigantic extinct bird of new Zealand http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moa

I, personally, love the name Calliope. It might be a little hard to swallow for some people, and if that bothers you, you could always call her Callie, but I don't find it hard swallow at all.
Noelle - Very pretty.
May - Love this as a MN, but only this spelling, not Mae
Rain - NMS, but okay.
Seraphina - Don't even get me started on how much I love this name! Gorgeous.
Aurelia - Very pretty.
Oceane - NMS
Briar -I love this on a girl. Plus, if the harshness of it bothers you, you could always give her a very fem. MN (In fact, Briar Seraphina is quite lovely...)
Noelani - Pretty!
Moana - Again, pretty!

Ick.
I met a woman in a park once addressing her 4ish year old daughter as Calliope Rose. (This was in Texas) Gah, so flakey-sounding to me. By flakey I mean, the bad side of the hippie stereotype: eccentric, frumpy, flighty, dim, unsophisticated.
There are worse names; I just don't think it's very cool.
I like all these:
Noelle - starting to like this again
Noelani - can't get rid of this!
May - as a mn
Rain - as a mn
Seraphina - a little long but i love it too much
Aurelia - so pretty but I think it's too much to handle even as a mn
But:
Oceane - difficult to pronounce; seems artificial to me.
Briar - is it too ugly for a girl? - Yes, IMO
Moana - Personally I can't see past the "moan" in it. I guess exposure would cure me of that

Reminds me of one of the ugly stepsisters from Rogers and Hammersteins Cinderella. But most people wouldn't remember that. This is one of those names that I love how it looks, but not so much how it sounds.
Noelle- this is sooo pretty but reminds me of Christmas
May - cute as a mn
Rain - NMS
Seraphina - a little long but i like it
Aurelia - pretty but long I like Aurelie better
Oceane - I love it but its a little much
Briar - I like it, wasn't Briar Rose Sleeping Beauty's name?
Noelani - Love it! I love Hawaiian names This is sooo pretty.
Moana - I can't stop seeing Moan in it. Also, do you say it Moan-ah or Mo-ana?

I can't help but pronounce Calliope as kal-ee-OPE. I read a book when I was much younger and this is how I pronounced it in my head, and even though I know better I still can't help it. Not that I find ca-LIE-o-pee much prettier. I don't like "lie" sounds in names, nor "pee". Sorry.
Briar is winning me over, slowly. I love love Oceane (oh-say-ann), and I like Seraphina spelt Serafina. I think Aurelia is so ugly, but I know of ton of people really like it here. I don't like any of the others.
On a positive note... YAY BUNNY in your sig! I always loved your other bunny sig, this one is awesome too!

That's exactly how I used to pronounce it! Then I found out what it really was and I find it much more attractive, but still not up to my standards. I just wanted to see what everyone else thought.
Yes! I think I am growing an obsession for bunnies because I grew up with Beatrix Potter, and my stuffed bunny was literally my life and still kinda is so it fits =]
