Peregrine is a family name for me; there are a good 5-10 men in my recent family tree who were called Peregrine. I like the name a lot, and I like the nn Per, but I'm wondering your opinions. Do you think it would work on a RL child today? Do you associate it more with the Lord of the Rings, or with peregrine falcons? (Speaking of LoTR, I love the nn Pippin a LOT, but that's definitely too over the top).
