I prefer Lindsay. It seems less dated than Shannon. I would use Shanna instead of Shannon. It seems more modern to me. Shannon and Lindsay seem girlish to me. As for combos, Lindsay Shannon and Shannon Lindsay are nice (although Shannon Lindsay doesn't flow nearly as well as Lindsay Shannon).

I like Lindsay more. And only for a girl.I know both girls and boys with the name Shannon and that's fine. It's just one of those names that I think is alright to do that with. But if I ever used it, it would be for a girl.

Although I usually think of Shannon or Lindsay as girl's names, I know they can be used for both male/female and for that reason, I would never use those names.

I prefer both names for girls, but i really like the name Lindsey for a boy.

Lindsey Alexander
Lindsey Carter
Lindsey William
Lindsey Connell

Lindsey Ross?
I think all of these names are nice

I'm not fond of Shannon, but I only see as a girls' name.I really like Lindsay although I prefer the sp. Lyndsey or Lynsey. Again, I only like it as a girls' name.

I definitely prefer Shannon over Lindsay.I like Shannon on a guy, probably because the Shannons I've known have been guys. Apart from that, I don't think it's a very 'pretty' name for a girl. Some combo ideas:
Shannon Alexander
Shannon Mitchell
Shannon Bradley
Shannon James
Shannon Darcy

I'm not crazy about either. But if forced I would say Shannon for a girl and Lindsay for a boy is what I prefer. One of my chilhood best-friend's was named Shannon so I have a hard time seeing it on a boy now. Lindsay I just think sounds better for a boy but I don't hate it on a girl. One of the Lindsay's (or maybe the spelling was Lindsey, I don't remember) I went to school with was Lindsay Caroline.
Go on, be evil and get lazy.

I like Shannon more than Lindsay for either sex. I'm a tiny bit happier with each name on a woman, because that's the only way I've ever heard them; but I think they'd suit a man fine.
A couple combos off the top of my head:
Shannon Bridget
Lindsay Caroline
Shannon Dougal
Lindsay Frederick- chazda

I prefer Shannon and Lindsay on girls. Lindsay Abigail and Shannon Alexandra come to mind.

My name is Shannon, so I don't think it's a big surprise that I prefer it over Lindsay. I really prefer it on a male, though, and may use it as the mn for a future son.I like the combos:Shannon Diggory
Michael Shannon

I love Shannon. It's acutally my middle name, and I like it more than my first. I like it on both genders too, and I may use it as a mn for my son. They will see us waving from such great heights,
'come down now,' they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away,
'come down now,' but we'll stay...

Both Shannon and Lindsay are among my favorites, but only on the boy's side. The names mentioned are NMS for a girl.

I prefer Lindsay.Lindsay I like better on girls, but it goes fine on either (in my opinion).I think Shannon should only be used on girls. It's not that it sounds feminine to me, but I've always seen it used on pretty blond cheerleaders, so to me it would seem *way* out of place on a guy.I can't think of any combos at the moment...
