Love it!It's very strong and spunky to me. Resilient, but still feminine. But, I have a cousin Connie who I adore, so I'm biased. She always has to explain to people that her "real name" is Connie, though, not Constance, so that might be something to take into account before you give it to a kid who's going to have to explain it for the rest of her life.

I love Connie, but only as a nn for Constance. I really dislike nns as full names with only a few exceptions. I find it difficult to imagine Connie on a judge or a President or a director of a company. You know, Her Honour Connie Smith- it just doesn't sit right with me.

whoops...I meant to ditto the first post, and I wondered why it wasn't there. Anyway, I love Constance, not so much Connie.

i hate Constance. Connie seems like a nickname to me. it would be important when she got older to have a full name she can go by.

Connie is a sweet, retro-sounding nn. But it does need something more formal:Constanza
Constantia
Constantina
Consolata
Connemara (region in Western Ireland)
Cornelia
Veronica
Corazon
Consuelo
Concepcion (OK, so maybe this one isn't the most practical)Thanks for a fun thread.

I hate it. Too nicknamey and dated. I also hate Bonnie, though Bonnie is not nicknamey. I guess I just don't like the sound. I work with a very nice woman named Connie, though.
