I've fallen in love with
Emeric ("EM-er-ic") lately.
Before I was a full-blown namenerd I was an old film nut. The name
Emeric Pressburger would come up every now and then. Born
Imre Jozsef Emmerich Pressburger in Hungary, he moved to Germany and
France before settling in Britain and changing his name to
Emeric. (Film buffs out there will know that he is a writer / directer and producer of British films.)
This name has been rolling around in the back of my head and lately has moved to the front. It seems easy to spell and say. It's got history, but hasn't been overly used to the point of boredom. For parents looking for a "unique" name,
Emeric (to me) fits the bill.
What are your thoughts on
Emeric? Any mn suggestions? Do you prefer
Emmerich or even
Amalric? Do you see any teasing potential / problems that I'm missing?
Thanks in advance.
