Replies

Helmi Hellä Inkeri (Ilona) - sweet and old-fashioned
Olivia Laura Amelia (Adele) - I like the sisters name, does that mean that Adele is workable in Finnish?
Peppi Janita Julia - I really don't like the name Peppi.
Amanda Orvokki - Amanda is very 90's name here, but Orvokki is adorable.
Emilia Miisa Mirjam - Miisa Mirjam is sweet.
Amanda Pinja Mimosa - As is Pinja Mimosa.
Twins: Jaana Sylvia & Tiina Maria - those were very unfashionable first names, and not in a fun way. But they're at least unusual for children now.
Totti Waltteri Antinpoika - Totti is quite childish, but I like Waltteri.
Onni Viljami - sweet

What's the "typical" number of first names in Finland? I met a Finnish guy that only had one FN and one surname.

Most people I've met have two names (+ surname, of course), but apparently now giving three names to your child is very trendy.

That's funny. In my country I believe there's an actual legal restriction to giving more than two FN's to your child. At least, except for our pseudo-royalty, I've never EVER heard of someone with three given names or more.

We have a bit similar laws, too.
You can't give more than two middle names to your child, and a hyphen name is couted as one name.
I personally don't really like it when people are giving more than one middle name - I've seen only several times combo out of three names that works.

A few days ago I looked at birth announcements in an old paper and found a twinset Bianca Ella Poutapilvi and Alexandra Elli Aurinko. :SSonja Camilla (Sara)
- Pretty, I like both Sonja and Sara, although Sara is overly used
Helmi Hellä Inkeri (Ilona)
- What were the parents thinking? Hellä = gentle. I'd just go by Heljä.
Veera Matilda
- Booring
Ella Johana (mother's name is Johana)
- *Another Ella*. Johana will propably get misspelled as Juhana or Johanna. (There are 11 women named Johana in Finland)
Verna Viola (Iida & Saaga)
- Very nice, but I'd prefer Ida and Saga
Eveliina Fanni Linnea
- I like it very much, but Eveliina would be nicer with one "i".
Enna Alissa (Alex)
- Finnish cre8tivity :D. Anna/Enni Alisa would be very nice. I like Alex
Olivia Laura Amelia (Adele)
- You can't find names that are more dull than Olivia
Peppi Janita Julia (Nella, mother's name is Janita)
