Nazi-ism? I think that's a bit much.

Do you also strongly dislike Bianca, Blanche, and every other name found here: http://www.behindthename.com/php/search.php?nmd=md&terms=white Does this mean that Cole, Melanie, Jett and every other name that means "black" are too Afro-centric? Inquiring minds want to know. I've never heard of this reaction, and it boggles my mind to make such a leap of association.

No...(m)That isn't really what I meant, though I'm not sure how to convey what I did mean. The name Blanca very obviously means "white" to me because I speak Spanish, and so that is my knee-jerk reaction. Is it an entirely realistic and correct reaction? Not really, and I freely admit that. It's my problem that I think of that, but you asked for opinions and that is mine. It's not that the name means "white" in and of itself, I think, it's that it's so blatantly obvious to me. That might be closer to what I meant.ETA: I also did a pretty big report on race recently, so I apologize if that has colored my opinion.
