Posy???
I heard recently of a girl named Rose who goes by the nn Posy (I know it is somewhat commonly used as a nn for Josephine). The Posy I know of is like 20yo and I actually think its cute on her. Anyways, I'm wondering what people think of the name in general but more specifically as a nn for Rose.

i don't get it personally, rose- posy? totally unrelated unless its a posy made of roses i suppose. I have a cousin called Holly who everyone called pops which became poppy, so holly is often called poppy, very odd in my opinion. In any case, if anybody called me posy i'd be horrified, why not flossy? or popsickle? It's hideously cute and embarassing. just imo!

I think it's cute as a nickname, and I think it works for Rose, since a flower was sometimes generically referred to as a posy in the past.

I have been called Rosie-Posy occasionally as a nickname by friends (my full name is Rosemary). It tends to be something people randomly come out with although one friend does call me that on a regular basis. It's a bit sickly sweet for me and Posey reminds me of a My Little Pony.

Posy is sweet, I like it. Rosy-Posy is perfectly fine. Two flowers for the price of one.

I wouldn't associate it with the name Rose, but I do like it, in a weird, would-never-actually-use-it kind of way. It reminds me of the character from Ballet Shoes, which I loved as a child.S xx
