I *really* dislike Elizabeth, but I adore some of its nns.
Bess - I didn't like this until I saw it listed on nymbler as a "jazz age name". Then I started thinking of the 1920s, and I just fell for it.
Betty - I thought it was old-fashioned until I heard of "Ugly Betty". Now it sounds cute and contemporary.
Bette - Short, sweet, and so much better than Beth.
Eliza - I'm a sucker for Victorian-sounding names.
Elli - I prefer Ellie, but both spellings are adorable.
Elsa / Elsie - Both are accused of being cow names but I think of a little country girl when I hear them.
Lili - It's sweet, but I prefer Lillie, and not as a nn for Elizabeth.
