Re: How about you stop writing the accent on registration papers?
Tell them, "I understand that Chloé is the French form and is pronounced klo-AY, but you need to understand that my name is pronounced KLO-ee. Please." If you've explained clearly how your name is pronounced, it sounds like they're trying to be obnoxious and/or think you don't understand the rules of spelling and want to correct you. Tell them you do understand what an accent mark means, but you also didn't name yourself, and you don't need to be corrected on the pronounciation of your own name.Try that, anyway. I am having a lot of trouble understanding why people who you're sure you've clearly explained your name to continue to say klo-AY.

I'll try it. Thanks. Yeah, I have trouble figuring it out too. The only people that get my name right are my mom, dad, brothers and sisters, and best friends and other family. Some people in my family call me "Klo-ay" just to tease me. But that's okay. I knwo they're joking, and KNOW how my name is pronounced, so that doesn't bother me.
