I love it! I prefer it as a fn- it is a bold choice but I think livable. I would use it as a long version of Anna, Annie or Romy.

it sounds really clumsy and rather like a surgical implement to me. And of course, very sci-fi, but i think it could grow on me, it sounds like an alpha-female sort of name.

I love Andromeda. GP for me too, though, but I think it would be great with the nn Andie. (Really, I just love Andie as a nn for a girl, for one reason or another.)
