Nicknames for Nathaniel
I'm not sure whether I like Nathan / Nate / Nat best. What do you think? I'm pretty sure the middlenames would be Nathaniel Joshua Oliver or Nathaniel Jacob Oliver. WDYT?Any opinions / suggestions would be great. Thanks!

I'm not a fan of Jacob, so Nathaniel Joshua Oliver definitely sounds better to me. And I love the nn Nat for Nathaniel. Nate and Nathan are fine, but I can take them or leave them, really.

I think both combos are great, but I feel that Nathaniel Jacob Oliver flows better. I like the nn Nath, but pronounced like "NAY-th". Nate also works though.

I just don't think Nathan is a nn for Nathaniel. It doesn't come naturally, the vowel is different, and anyway Nathan is good on its own.If I had to choose, Nat. I think Nate is also for Nathan.I *adore* Nathaniel, it may be my favourite boy's name. I'd hope that no one would shorten it because I can't think of any short form that moves me at all. Both Jacob and Joshua are too overused for my liking, even in the mn spot. Nathaniel Oliver would be lovely. Partly for my own sake (I do love this name!) here are my faves:Nathaniel Rex
Nathaniel Morgan
Nathaniel Harvey
Nathaniel Anthony
Nathaniel Lennox
Nathaniel Calvin

Nat is my favorite and I really can't stand Nate or Nathan, the long a sound really bother's me in those for some reason. As for the combos Nathaniel Jacob Oliver flows the best.

I like Nate best, You could also have Nath or possibly even Neal?I like Nathaniel Jacob Oliver best, because although i think Joshua sounds better with Nathaniel Joshua and Oliver don't seem to flow greatly when i say them.

I'd be inclined to go with Nat, as it's traditional for Nathaniel and Nate could be Nathan.
Nathan sounds as if it's his entire name - and he might always be having to explain that it isn't.
I love the combos - Jacob wins by a whisker over Joshua owing to sound.

I don't like Nathan. Nate is ok but Nat is my favourite. I think it's very cute.I prefer Joshua to Jacob.
