Apple isn't so bad, I admit, but it's still more a word for me than a name. And it's still has an overwhelming "celebrity worship" vibe to me.
I would recommend Pomona instead, as it means "apple" in Latin and was the name of the Roman goddess of fruit trees, gardens, and orchards.
