Vinny

It just reminds me of some character from a Mafia movie, so I don't really care for it. On the other hand, I do like Vincent.
I just think of the mob. Vinny is not one that I like anyways.
Vincent is the only name I can think of that it works with.

I have the opposite problem
I love Vincent, but I'm so turned off by Vinny that I may never use it. Vinny/Vinnie is the de facto Hollywood name for mafia thug, the heavy who shows up to break some kneecaps.
Vinny could work as a nn for any Vin- name and any name like Alvin or Melvin.

I think if I was ona game show and got asked "Come up with the quintessential mobster name" I would choose Vinnie/Vinny in a heartbeat, and I'd win the grand prize. Except that every other player would probably have picked it too.
Sorry, but Vinnie/Vinny is just too mob-movie/book associated to be workable. Vincent is very nice, and if a nn is needed than Vince works very well.

I actually really like Vinnie (I think I prefer this spelling, but I'm not entirely sure yet).
Since you don't like Vincent, WDYTO Vinal, Vincente (vin-CHEN-te), Vinay, Vince, Vincenzo (vin-CHEN-zo), Vinzent, Vinicius, Vinicio, Alvin, Calvin, Kevin, Irving, Baldovino, Marvin, Devin, Savino, and Gavin?
