I think
Abraham is considered heavy because it isn't as used as it were like 100 years ago. If it was it wouldn't be heavy. I think it's a pretty masculine name. It's like
John, we consider it a very ordinary name, maybe within 30 years it won't be (you can't find loads of baby
John's nowadays).
I think you can use the same name, and/or find another variant of that name. Besides, both
David and
Joseph are currently middle names.
Katarina (or
Catarina) is a very pretty feminine name. As a nickname, you can use
Kate,
Katie (use
Katarina as if it was
Katherine).
And
David hasn't been done to death! It's a very nice name! Masculine name!
