Nicholas vs. Christopher
I love both names, but they're both so common and I'm not sure if I'd use both. I've come up with equal pros and cons for each myself, so I'm curious as to which you prefer and why. Thanks in advance!

I prefer Christopher. I've never been a fan of Nicholas and I don't like the nn Nick at all. Chris is fine as a nn for Christopher and I also really like Topher aswell.
Well shoot... I love both as well. Nicholas is the male form of my middle name and Christopher is a family name. Providing I didn't have ties to either name, I think I would like Nicholas better for the sound.
I have two nephews named Christopher and Nicholas (brothers). Despite the fact that I would have named my second born dd Nicholas had she been a boy, I'm glad I didn't because of its popularity. I just don't love it anymore. Actually, I'm not sure I ever did. Picking and sticking with male names has always been difficult for me. ;-)
Overall, I much, much prefer the sound of Christopher but I'd only use it as a mn because like Nicholas, it's just too common.

It's really hard to choose but I guess I would pick Nicholas. Christopher I could never use it for myself because everytime I hear "Chris" I get confused and think someones talking to me.
I prefer Christopher, but I think it is more popular than Nicholas (or is where I live). Christopher Nicholas?
Nicholas! I love it!
I've never really liked Christopher. It's too long, too complicated (I have to check that I've spelled it correctly each time), and it's just boring.

I definitely prefer Nicholas...love it! I think it's such a handsome, classy name that will age well.
Christopher, on the other hand, seems rather dated to me, for some reason. I picture it as a '60s, '70s, '80s name, personally (perhaps, because I know of so many Christopher's born in those decades). And the sound of it...I just don't find it appealing.

I would choose Christopher. Even though it was way popular a few decades ago, Nicholas is way too popular right now. Besides, most of the Nicholases I know are pretty naughty, anyway :)
My son is a very good little boy. ;)
Christopher, definitely. I don't really like either, but I do like Christophe and Christian, so Christopher. Nicholas isn't really my style.
I've never been a fan of Nicholas. No idea why, it just doesn't seem very appealing to me. And the name seems destined to always be shortened to Nick or Nicky, which imo are the most boring, predictable nn's of all time. =/
Christopher, however, is lovely. It's beautiful and easy to say and not the least bit harsh. I love that it's long and three syllables, and the -pher sound at the end is awesome. Plus it has many, many nn possibilities all in which I love. Chris, Topher, Kit... the list goes on. But if I were to use the name I wouldn't shorten it to anything because I love saying Christopher!

Nicholas- I love Nick as a NN but as a full name I'm not really fond of it. It is classy and masculine which is good but still kind of plain.
Christopher- A really great name imo but I strongly dislike any NN. I can't stand Chris and Topher makes me sick. This is also a very classy and masculine name and as long it's used without any NN Christopher would be my choice. I don't find it boring even though it might be common.
