Not common, but boring.

I think it is nice, although a bit plain. Janey is the only nickname I can think of. It is not very common here, I know a few but none are younger than about 30!I would go for a longer, more unusual middle name with this, as it's pretty short and uninteresting. Jane Hermione, Jane Alexia, Jane Cassandra etc.

I love Jane / Jayne (mainly due to the beautiful Jayne Kennedy-Overton). I met one cute little girl named Jane last year and ever since then it's been a name I would consider in the future.

I LOVE Jane- love!!! I live in Ontario, Canada and I don't know any Janes- I'm a teacher as well and have never come across one. It's classic and spunky and so very elegant- a great choice! I don't think it needs a nn- it's perfect on it's own and only one syllable so I think it's fine as is....if pressed, I guess you could use Janie.

Jane isn't too common...I can't think of any little Janes I might have met. Most people think Jane is too plain (probably becaue 'Jane' and 'plain' rhyme!). The only Jane nicknames I can think of are Janie and Janey, possible Jan. Rochester called Jane 'Janet' in Jane Eyre, however.Just don't go for Jayne...I can't stand it!

Jane is a lovely underused classic, which ages well and is easy to live with. I only knew of one Jane, even though it is sterotypically British :)Jaynie, Jenny, Jen, Jan, Jay, (any other "cute" nn about that doesn't really belong to a name like Buttercup or something)

What do you think of this name?I really dislike this name a lot. Jane is a nice midddle name, but too plain as a first name. Some people may like it, but I don't. Is it common where you live? NO, but that's a good thing.Which nicknames does it have?Well, Jaynie is obvious. I go by Jenny, which is an old nickname for Jane, before Jennifer became popular. Jenny fits me better than Jayne or Jaynie. Jenny is also popular sounding, which is what I always wanted.
Thanks!

I love Jane. I think it's a beautiful and elegant classic. I don't know a single Jane of any age. My favorite nicknames would be Janie or Jenny.

I personally really like Jane. But I can never get past "PlainJane". Yes, the kid makes the name in the end. But I'd rather give a baby better kick at the can than that.

It's not a favourite of mine, but it would be quite refreshing to see it used :)I know one Jane who is 18, so it's not at all common where I live.Nicknames: Janie, Janey, Jay / Jaye. But I don't really think it needs a nickname.

I think Jane is a very classic and pretty name. I like it because it's historical, and Jane Eyre is one of my favorite books. It's fairly common where I live on a fairly wide range of ages. I don't think that Jane needs any nicknames since it's only one syllable, but I know Janie is one and I suppose Jan could be, although that's more a nickname for Janet.

I like Jane. There is only one Jane that I know of living in my area.
Ages ago I knew a Jane who liked to be called Jan. You could always have Janey as a nickname.
