I only know personally one male Ashley. He's a bit older than me, so he was named before Ashley was really popular. Oddly enough, he has always gone by his middle name Matthew. I found out his first name completely by accident. He said that his mother had never known an Ashley of either sex but had always planned to call him Matthew/Matt. I can't remember if Ashley was some kind of family name or not.
