I like it, esp. because it was my grandmother's name (not a nn), but I also just find it old-fashioned and sweet. But there are the
Elsie the Borden Cow associations (which my grandmother heard quite a bit, lol), and it's too nickname-y for a given name, imo. I love
Elsa and
Elspeth, though, and wouldn't mind using one of those and occasionally calling her
Elsie. :)
