WDYTO Lucy?
I've slowly been falling in love with the name Lucy. Originally I wasn't very big on it because of the possible Lucy/Loose-y connection, but it's just so happy and bright sounding, while not seeming as insubstantial as something like Lacy. So, wdyto Lucy? And some combos, I prefer it paired with something more grounded as a middle name:Lucy Charlotte
Lucy Jane
Lucy Magdalene
Lucy Claire (almost too cutesy, but it just sounds so sweet in my head)
Lucy Adelaideany other suggestions?

I love Lucy and all of your combos here with the exception of Lucy Charlotte (the sounds don't blend well for me). My personal favorite Lucy combo is Lucy Eleanor. I don't find Lucy Claire too cutesy at all. It's rather nice.

I like Lucy and I like all of your combos except for Lucy Claire.

I love Lucy but prefer it as a nickname. It's a full name on its own but I find it really cutesy. Lucy Charlotte, Lucy Magdalene, Lucy Claire and Lucy Adelaide are gorgeous. Lucy Jane is a little too short for me.

I really like the name Lucy. The problem is that I see it as a nickname for Lucille, and I don't like Lucille. Therefore I would never use just Lucy, because I can't stand nicknames used as full names. I'm just such a stickler for that. I don't care how long a name has been used in its own right, if it started out as a nickname, I still see it as a nickname. I even feel that way about Janet, which started out as a nickname for Jane. So that's the only problem I have with Lucy. It is really sweet and so quaintly old-fashioned.

Techically, Lucille is the pet form. I know Lucy is shorter, but it was used as a name first. Just like Jeanette was originally the pet form of Jean, and Anouska the pet form of Anne. Just because they are the longer, does not make them the original.

Hey, it appears you're right! I looked up Lucy, and it said that it's the English feminine form of Lucius. And then I looked up Lucille, and it said it's the French pet form of Lucia. I guess my thinking was influenced by Lucille Ball, whom we all know went by Lucy. Well, I don't have a problem with Lucy anymore, but as I'm not going to be having any more children, it's all academic.

No problems, I never realised it was a "legit" full name either until Btn enlightened me.

It's gorgeous. The mns I prefer in your list are Charlotte and Claire (I love the association of two "light" meanings).
Other possible combos:
Lucy Elaine
Lucy Juliana
Lucy Margot
Lucy Eve

Lucy's a wonderful name. One of my favourites. I prefer it on its own; it's quite strange for me to hear it as a nickname (though it's valid, I suppose). Thoughts on your combos:Lucy Charlotte - It's nice, and the names sound great together, but somehow it sort of says, "I am so posh! No really! See how posh I am?" Charlotte's also a little too sweet and soft and combined with Lucy, the whole thing flops a bit. But I'm quibbling, because if I met a Lucy Charlotte in real life, I'd be happy. This is my third choice.
Lucy Jane - Sweet, but a bit too short, I think. Fourth choice.
Lucy Magdalene - Oh! My favourite! Magdalene (though it's one of my favourites) can be a bit over the top, but not when paired with sweet, understated Lucy. Next to Lucy, all it does is provide a nice backbone and make the combo very strong and defined. The length of the names complement each other perfectly. Yay!
Lucy Claire - Sounds quite bland, and reminds me of those snobby popular girls that don't exist in real life that Hollywood loves to churn out crap about (uh, nevermind, all the things Hollywood likes to churn out crap about don't exist in real life...). Also, it runs together like nobody's business. Last choice!
Lucy Adelaide - Wonderful. Adelaide, like Magdalene, is strong enough to hold Lucy up and make it strong as well, but it's also got a much more free-spirited, fun side. The whole combo is very charming. My second favourite. Here are some other suggestions:

Wow, thank you so much for the great response! Lucy Magdalene, I have to admit, is also the one I lean towards the most. Lucy Jane has the cute, short, feel to it that would tempt me to say Lucy-Jane constantly like it was a double-first name, so I agree about the length on that one.I also adore:Lucy Margaret
Lucy Bridget (Bridget's on my PNL, and it has a family connection)
Lucy Caroline
Lucy Jillian (prefer the spelling Gillian)
and I like Lucy Harriet a lot more than I thought I would!

I love Lucy! Lol. really, it's a sweet-sounding, bright, happy name and I can picture it on a darling, cherubic-looking little girl that always wears a smile on her face. All the middle names are quite nice, however Lucy Claire sounds like Loose Eclair. :(If I had to pick my favourite, I'd say Lucy Jane. Adorable!

Oh my goodness, I didn't even think of Loose Eclair! *scratches that one off furiously* Goodness.

Personally, I think Lucy is overrated. It's not a bad name, and it's worlds better than all the kree8tif concoctions people are coming up with these days, but I just don't see the appeal.
From you list, my favorite is Lucy Magdalene.

I think Lucy is a sweet name, and I definitely prefer it all on its own, rather than as a NN for Lucille, etc, which seem more dated imo. From the combos you've listed, Lucy Charlotte would have to be my favorite, but Charlotte isn't a name that I love, personally (it is nice, though). Some other suggestions:Lucy Alexandra
