It's my grandmothers name, but I really don't like it. It's a very old fashioned name here, that only grandmothers has, and they're not really my fave names. Others are Vera and Sonja, and they're my grandmothers sisters.♠Charlie Blue♣

I'm not a big fan of Lydia, but if I were to pick a middle name I would choose Ruth or Rose.

It's my name and I don't like it, mainly because it's not a common name and people find it hard to remember, that has always been a pet peeve of mine. Also people have found the weirdest ways to pronounce it, plus it seems everyone has a different way to spell it.

I think it is the other way aroundIf you have an uncommon name, people remember it. Those people who don't remember Lydia must have bad memories. How many ways are there to spell Lydia? The only alternative I can think of is the Russian Lidia.I think you've got a lovely name!

Thanks, but I wish that it was true in my case but maybe I'm just weird. My grandmother was named Lidya(I was named after her) and no one ever forgot her name.As for the alternete spellings I've seen:
Lidya
Lydya
Littia
Lidyuh
Lidiya

Well, at least not as many spellings as CaitlinSeems that most names can be spelled differently. Maybe not Emma and Hannah but many others. Emily, Emelie, Emmaleigh etc. Haley, Hailey, Hayley, Hayleigh, Haileigh etc.

People can go out of their way to misspell a name, trust me. My name is Heather and I've got a few variations, believe it or not. :b I know a woman named Claudia who says people misspell her name all the time, and I'm thinking, 'How many ways are there to spell Claudia??' LOL.

Maybe Cloudya, Cloddia, Clawdia?I guess if people have never met anyone before with the name and don't read much, then they have no clue.

Exactly! If only people read more instead of just sitting in front of the tv....

Hum well I know A Lydia May which I think is a great combination because Lydia by itself only sounds good on older person and May on a little child but Lydia May goes well for both.
