Becca
I'm liking the nn Becca more and more lately, but am not a big fan of Rebecca (I'd have to use the spelling Rebeka). Are there any other names that you can think of and that Becca could be a nn for?

I like nickname names only if they can stand etymologically on their own. Becca is not one of those names, so I can't give the thumbs up on it.And what happens if your daughter simply doesn't like the name Becca, what if she prefers Reba, Rebby, or even Rebecca in full? I don't think you can really nickname backwards (i.e., "My name's Becca, but call me Rebecca"), it's counter-intuitive and most people wouldn't get it at all.Besides, full names look much better and more professional on résumés, court documents, etc. in my opinion. As for a full name, Rebecca is probably your best option, I'm sorry to say. But one name that hasn't been suggested yet (I checked! ;-)) is Kelebek, a Turkish name meaning "butterfly".EDIT: + accents

Rebeccanne? :SOr just use Becca.

Benedicta or some form of it seems like the most likely candidate to me. I could see Berenice working, too.Otherwise, I really think Becca on its own would be perfectly fine. It's a respectable name in itself, and I think it would stand alone easily if you dislike all the full name options.Array

I agree with Becca being fine on it's own.

I'd have to spell Becca as Beka (which I find ugly) and it seems king of bare to me, like it's missing a part. I like Benedicta suggestion though.

Why would you have to spell it as Beka? Array

Because where I live that is the only spelling that would be correctly pronounced.

that's a difficult one...
Maybe:
Bakarne
Benedicta
Bianca (although I really don't liek that)
Blanca (ditto)
Boudicca
Wibeke
Vibeke
Beatrix or maybe Beatrixa ...
Bellatrix or Bellatrixa
Beracha
Ljubica or maybe Lubica
Abegail
Benigna
Bogdana
Brigitta
I think Benedicta would be the most suitable one or Boudicca, and maybe Lubica as well

The ones I like and could actually use are Benedicta and maybe Beatrice (but we pronounce it with a 'ch', like the Italians, so maybe not after all). Not clear on how you get Becca out of Ljubica pr.'lyu-beetzah'.

By mispronouncing it...Or by making it a stretch just like with Beatrice (that doesn't have a K sound either, just the C).

How about Boudicca or Boadicea? It's a bit of a stretch, but it could work.
