Zephyr?
My older cousin Wendy just had a baby boy about a month ago, and it is so adorable! His name is Zephyr. It's not bad, but not my style, really. What do you think? (Zephyr is pronounced ZEF-er)

I like Zephyr, but I am more fond of the Greek form, Zephyros.

hah this is what my mum threatened to name me if i was a boy (as a joke to my grandma, although my grandma didn't realise that and was quite horrified lol). It was a play on the fact that my dad's name is Mark though, as in Mark II Zephyr lol which would have just been mean!. When my grandma asked what if I was a girl, mum threatened to name me Zodiac, which I actually quite like.

I love it! I'd actually consider using it as a fn because its not too weird but its definitely not common. I really like the meaning and sound, too. I also adore Zephyra for a girl =)

I'm not a fan. I think of Zephyrhills water, mostly. It was also the name of a gay superhero in a comic within a show on "Queer As Folk" (your useless information for the day), which doesn't bother me personally, but it might some people. It just doesn't have an attractive sound at all, IMO.

I'd never use it, and I pronounce it 'ze-feer', but I like it.

I like it as a word, but not as a name. It reminds me of the Zephyr Cape from Final Fantasy III, which my brother named his rat after.

I don't like the pron, but I do like the name. I say Zephyr as ZAY-feer myself

Its different...its definitely not my style but I have heard worse.

I don't mind Zephyra or Zephyrine but I don't particularly like Zephyr. It reminds me of zeppelins amongst other things. And isn't Zephyr slang for cocaine, or something along those lines? Maybe someone can correct me.

I don't know about cocaine, but I do know that Zephyr was a code word used by tobacco companies for years in place of the words "lung cancer."

ummm definitely nms!Makes me think of the Amtrak route I take to downstate Illinois. Sorry...I like some pretty odd names but Zephyr is too "out there" even for me.

i have a friend who named her son Zephyr. I never really cared for it, but i suppose it's ok.

To be honest it's nms. It's not bad though, I've heard much worse.

I love it! Greek mythology names are one of my many weeknesses: )

I love it! I'm a big Red Hot Chili Peppers fan and it makes me think of their song. Not sure if I would use it as a first name, but I'd definitely consider it in the middle name slot.

Yeah, as a fellow RHCP fan, I think its really cool and edgy. But I would only use it as a middle name.

That was my first thought too! I think it would make a really cool mn.
