I'm not particularly fond of Werner. Werner Klemperer (Colonel Klink on Hogan's Heroes) and Werner Heisenberg (head of the Nazi's Atomic Energy Project) are the first Werners to pop into my mind, so it's hard for me not to think about Nazis. Plus, where I live, enforcing the v pronunciation would be an uphill battle. The w pronunciation is very surnamey and uncomfortably close to 'wiener.' Drystan looks like a chemical to me or, as someone else pointed out, like a cold medicine.
