I think it's okay. I used to like it in high school. I don't really like Lachie though. Maybe just Lach would be okay for a nn.

I love Lachlan too. As Chrisell said, it's very popular in Australia at the moment. I know at least three young boys, all spelt Lachlan and with the nn Lachie. But I still enjoy the name. I like the sound.

I love Lachlan. If I had a son right now (and I would be very surprised if I did lol) I would call him Lachlan, nn Lachie.

I love Lachlan, but for some reason I keep forgetting to add it to my favourites list! It's very popular in Australia, almsot too popular for me to use, but I still enjoy it.

I absolutely love it. I prn it like LOCK-lin though, which I think is supposed to be some kind of heresy.
BTW, I've never heard of Lachie as a nn before. How adorable!

I had no idea...Lachlan was pronounced like Lock-lin! I've alwyas said it like Lach-lan (the ach-part pronounced like the German ach). LOL!
Oh, well you learn something new everyday but I don't think I like the name as much anymore...

I've gotten the impression that your prn is, in fact, the correct prn, but I can't make that sound easily, so I say LOCK-lin.

That's the normal prn in Australia.

Personally, I find it boring and trendy. Sorry. The sound just doesn't really appeal to me. (Probably because most Scottish names don't, and Irish ones for that matter.) I find Lachie kind of cute, but it reminds me of the Loch Ness Monster. (Who I'm sure I've heard called "Lochie" at some point.)
