John
I know John is considered to be a "boring" name...I normally wouldn't consider it for my top names, but it's a family name.
My dilemma...use it as a first name (more than likely nn Jack) but what mn to dress it up...or....use it as a mn with what?
Thanks for your help with this...I'm getting quite stumped.

It is my father's name, the name fits him quite well. I prefer James slightly more though.
I really like John. It is so modest and simple name, and everybody knows, how to spell it.

John makes a nice neat middle name.
Jonathan has a great sound, but Jonathan is the correct spelling (not Johnathan) - from Hebrew Yonatan. John is also from Hebrew (Yochanan), but it's incorrect to spell Jonathan Johnathan in view of the Hebrew equivalents for each name. I also think that Johnathan's too gimmicky.
