I've always said Es-Mee and this is how I've always heard it. I guess if it has an accent over the e then it could be Es-may.
I've always pronounced it Es-May. Es-MEE sounds odd IMO.
I prefer Es- MEE. Never heard it pronounced Es-MAY.
First of all, I would spell it Esmée, since that is the feminine form.
I would pronounce it either "EZ may" or "ez MAY".
