Maeve
I really like the name maeve but its not very popular. I was wondering who else likes this name and also do you think it would sound better being pronounced May-ev? I want to know how to get around changing a name but no so much that the meaning changes. If anyone can think up of some variations of this name to make it look like it sounds more like may-ev than post it please. : > }

Aw, I think maeve is a perfect name for a daughter. The sound is cute enough for a new born and the meaning fits an adult. Also what would you use for a middle name. It should be a name that means lady so the meaning is "intoxicating lady". (Just a suggestion)

Well, at first I was thinking along those lines but now its more about meaning a sound...I like Maeve Lysandra, and Maeve Amarante

I love how it sounds with Amarante.

I love this name. I'm seeing it more and more on polls so I think it's on the rise in popularity. In fact, I have two cousins (from different sides of my family) who have recently named a dd Maeve (one in England and the other in Ireland.) In addition, my sister almost named her dd Maeve (about 17 years ago in the U.S.)Of course, we're Irish, so the coincidence is not that unlikely. But I still say the name is on the rise.I've seen it spelled the Irish way, Maebh, but i doubt that's the direction you're moving in. I wouldn't change the Maeve spelling just for the sake of phonics. Maeve isn't that difficult a spelling. (I've only ever heard it pronounced "mave," BTW.)

I love Maeve. I don't suggest trying to change the pronunciation or making up a name.
