Millie....
Can it stand alone or is it too nicknamey?
The reason I ask is because Grant and I were having a brief discussion on names. I asked him if he likes the name Amelia and he said "Meh, its ok" I said "what about Amelia with the nn Millie", he says "Millie is better than Amelia".
If we have another kid (one day) should we consider just Millie (or Milly) OR should we consider Amelia nn Millie?
I also like Camille but I'm not so sure about using it coz Grant apparently had a one night stand with a girl named Camilla before he met me and that might be too wierd having a daughter with a similar name.
By the time we have another child our name tastes might change by then anyway or we'll have a boy.

I'm in England where people name their kids nns as first names all the time, although I dislike the practise on certain names. I think Milly can stand alone, just like Molly. But I do prefer it as a nn.
I don't really like Amelia. How about these with nn Milly / Millie:
Amelie
Matilda
Melody / Melanie
Jamila
Amalia
Maleah (I'm not a fan of it though)
Jamila
Millicent
Mary / Marie / Maria
Camellia

I've always seen Millicent as the "real" full name for Millie. I think it could work as a nickname for Amelia but to be honest I prefer Millie as a full name to Amelia with the nickname Millie.
I also think that Millie would go very well with both Haley and Skye.
Haley, Skye and Millie is much better than Haley, Skye and Amelia if you ask me :)

Millie is fine on it's own!
I love Millie, though I think I may prefer Milly. Thats hardly the point, sorry. Yes, Millie could stand alone, but it would probably age better as a nn for a longer name. Then again, I tend to dislike nns as given names.
I've always loved Millie as a nn for Matilda. How about Emilia (a little different than Amelia), Millicent, Emmeline, Emily?
I like Camille also, and I wouldnt really give another thought to some girl Grant had a very brief thing with. You obviously wouldn't be naming your child after her, and once the baby was born and named Camille any time either of you heard the name you would automatically think of your child not some random girl, you know?
