I love the name Evie! I also like Eve and Evelyn and love Ava. I definitely think Evie can stand on it's own, no problems. Out of all those names I think I'd probably go with Evie though.

I love it as a nickname, but it's hideously cutesy and childish as a given name.

I view Evie as soooo sweet that I definitely prefer it as a nick. It's right up there with Katie, imo (totally adorable but just not strong enough on its own).

I definitely think it needs to be short for something (unless you just adore Evie and hate all names it can be short for, I suppose). I like Eve, Genevieve, and Evelyn the best. Eve seems the most straightforward, and it's lovely, I think.

Evie is much too informal for my liking as a given name.

My favorite full names for it are Eve and Evanthe. (I also like/love Evelina, Evelyn, Evgenia/Evgeniya, Genevieve, and Guinevere. And...Evening is one of my guilty pleasures.)

I think Evie should be used as a nickname, although I have met an Evie whose name was just Evie. And of course, BTN lists it as a name, and that makes me think it's perfectly valid.

I think Evie can stand alone as a full name. It's getting quite popular in Britain, I think. I'm not a fan of Evelyn as it sounds like an old lady's name to me, but that maybe because I have a 90-year-old great aunt with that name so I associate it with older people. The only other Evelyn I know is in her 20s and she goes by the name Evie anyway. If it was me personally, I'd use Evie or Eve or Eva with Evie as a nickname.

Eve, Evelyn / Eveline or Evangeline with nn Evie would get my vote.

Personally, I wouldn't use it as a full name because it just sounds too much like a mere nickname tome. However, as far as NNs go, it isn't too cutesy. I wouldn't mind it as a full name on somebody else's child.

Eva "Evie" would get my vote. I don't really see it as a name that can stand alone.

Evie and Eve are brilliant nn for Evelyn. Wouldn't use Eva though.

Evie sounds nny to me, but if you really disliked all the full options then it could work alone.
