November nn Emmy is totally a GP for me- and it wouldn't be a gp but a name I'd actually use if it wasn't way too themey with my favourite boys name, August (which wouldn't be after the month, but November would be so..yeah ;)

So I can see the appeal of October. I only like Toby on a boy thoguh, even as a nn.

I used to LOVE it on a boy (spelled Oktober... shame shame!). I still think it's nice on either sex. Toby is a good nn for it, and not one I would have thought of. I know a really cool girl named Toby, and plus I always think of Toby from the Animorphs series, so it works on a girl for me.

I like it a lot but wouldn't use it. It's the type of name you'd like to see on other people's kids or maybe even for a book character. I love it on girls, but I dislike the nn Toby

That's such a cool name. I love autumn and October (my birthday month)! I sort of prefer Toby on a girl; it doesn't seem right on a boy.

If you want a month name, go with April, May, or June. October is just a little too out there for me.

I like October for a girl or a boy. I've never been a fan of Toby though. If they are using it for a girl than they should have at least spelled it Tobie imo

Actually, October is becoming a major gp of mine. It has officially found its way onto my favorites list. It's not high up there, mind you, but it's there. I don't know of I care for Toby as a nn; OTOH, October is almost too cumbersome not to have a nn, and I can't think of any nn's other than Toby.

October's pretty, though I can't say I'd ever use it myself. Toby seems better suited to a boy, IMO.

My distant cousin, whom I have never met is called October-Alice. She goes by that, no nn. At first I hated it, but even though I've never met her it has grown on me.

I dislike the nn Toby. IMO, if girls can be called June or May, then although I wouldn't use it, October is fine. At least she isn't a Nevaeh or something.
