Violet or Vivien?
Violet has been on my mind lately, since (as you may remember) this is a character on my Sims game. Today Vivien got stuck in my head. I think both of them are pretty. What's your opinion? If you had to, which one would you choose? Which spelling of Vivien (Vivienne, Vivien, Vivian) do you prefer?

Vivien!I love it because of Vivien Leigh. It's so fresh and beautiful.__________________________________________________

I like them both about the same - that is, I like them a lot, but not quite enough to use.I like that Violet is a more unusual flower name, and has a Victorian feel about it. With Vivien, I love the connotation of Vivien Leigh, but I prefer the form Viviana :-)_____________________________________________________________________Elinor"Well-behaved women rarely make history."

I love Violet (and Violetta, and I like Viola),so I would choose it.
I'm not sure which spelling of Vivien I like the most, but if I had to give it to my daughter (I wouldn't give it to a boy), maybe Vivianna, nn Vivi.

Both are beautifulBut in Sweden the form Viola is more used than Violet, so I would choose Viola. If I used Vivien, I would spell it as Vivian or as Vivianne."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed." (Edith Södergran 1891-1923)

ViolaIn Hungary we have Viola as well (but pron. Vee-oh-lah, not Vy-oh-lah). Violet is not used here.

I like both names, but I think I like Vivien slightly more. I prefer the spellings Vivian and Vivienne though.I did a poll a couple of months ago to see which variation people prefered, you can see that here if you're interested: http://www.behindthename.com/polls/view.php?id=40175

VioletAnd for Vivien, though I dislike the name all together (altogether?), I'd prefer the Vivien spelling.

Violet! I love it, it is my middle name. I do like Vivien too, but a scant less than I do Violet. I prefer the spelling Vivienne.

They're both completely gorgeous but if I had to choose,I'd say Violet because some might find Vivien a little snobby. But then again Violet's a lot more popular than Vivien and many people on these boards might prefer less trendy names.
I prefer the spelling Vivien .Vivienne is a bit snobby to me.
