Violet or Vivien?
Violet has been on my mind lately, since (as you may remember) this is a character on my Sims game. Today Vivien got stuck in my head. I think both of them are pretty.
What's your opinion? If you had to, which one would you choose? Which spelling of Vivien (Vivienne, Vivien, Vivian) do you prefer?

I like them both about the same - that is, I like them a lot, but not quite enough to use.
I like that Violet is a more unusual flower name, and has a Victorian feel about it.
With Vivien, I love the connotation of Vivien Leigh, but I prefer the form Viviana :-)

Violet for sure. Vivien is not my style.
:)
:)
i prefer vivian.
Both are beautiful
But in Sweden the form Viola is more used than Violet, so I would choose Viola. If I used Vivien, I would spell it as Vivian or as Vivianne.
"You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed." (Edith Södergran 1891-1923)

I like both names, but I think I like Vivien slightly more. I prefer the spellings Vivian and Vivienne though.
I did a poll a couple of months ago to see which variation people prefered, you can see that here if you're interested: http://www.behindthename.com/polls/view.php?id=40175
