'Celebrity' Babies - WDYT?
These are a few celebrity babies that haven't been mentioned yet on the board (thanks to www.celebrity-babies.com). BTW, I don't know who a lot of these people are, either, so I use the term 'celebrity' loosely. ;)*Tina Campbell (from singing duo Mary, Mary) and her husband welcomed their second daughter on June 11th--Meela Jane ("slightly prematurely but is healthy and strong"). She joins 3 1/2 year old sister, Laiah Simone. http://celebritybabies.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/2007/07/25/meela.jpg*Romaine Patterson (gay activist and radio talk show host), and her partner, Iris, welcomed a daughter on July 20th--Romaine Katherine. Personally I think of two things: 1) I don't care for "Jr's" on either gender, and 2) lettuce. *New Zealand model, Kylie Bax, and her husband, Spiros Poros, recently welcomed a daughter--Dione Nefeli, who joins big sister, Lito, and big brother, Aris. Supposedly, Dione is because it's the 'female version of Zeus' and Nefeli means 'everything above and beyond' (one of the comments from a reader states the word means "clouds" in Greek). *Kimberly Roads, from the country music group Little Big Town, recently welcomed a daughter--Daisy Pearl.*Christian singer/songwriter, Sara Groves, and her husband, Troy, welcomed a little girl on July 13th--Ruby Cate. She joins big brothers Toby & Kirby.
Toby, Kirby, and Ruby?! Oy.*Indian singer, Sonu Nigam, and his wife, Madhurima, welcomed a son on July 26th--Nevaan (whose name supposedly means 'holy'). *Sharon Corr, of the music group the Corrs, and her husband, welcomed their second child on July 18th, a little girl named--Flori Jean Elizabeth. She joins big brother Cathal "Cal" Robert Gerard. *Minnesota Lynx basketball player, Vanessa Hayden, and her husband, Brian Johnson, became parents for the first time on June 3rd to a little girl--Zyon Brianna.
Zion, Zyon, etc. seems to have gotten more popular for girls lately, esp. among African-Americans it seems.*Dylan Bruno (from the CBS show "Numb3rs"), and his wife, Emmeli, had a baby boy--Demian Axel--on June 13th.

RomaineI wonder if Romaine was Ms. Patterson's original given name? One of the most famous early 20th century American lesbians was Romaine Brooks, and it seems like an odd coincidence for her parents to have given her such an unusual first name and she also ends up as a lesbian activist. So perhaps her own legal first name isn't Romaine.http://romainebrooks.com/

re: celeb babiesDaisy Pearl feels very country to me, so I guess it's fitting that her mother is a country singer.Toby, Kirby and Ruby? Wanna take bets on the next baby? How about Abby for a girl and Colby for a boy.

(one of the comments from a reader states the word means "clouds" in Greek). Seems likely, as it looks like a variant of Nephele.Array

I suppose Nefeli = Nephele, Aris = Ares?, Lito = Leto. Perhaps.

Meela Jane (Laiah Simone). I don't mind these names.
Romaine Katherine. love the name Romaine, and i have never heard of the lettuce everyone always refers to.
Dione Nefeli (Lito and Aris) -don't care for any of them.
Daisy Pearl -ick
Ruby Cate (Toby and Kirby) -firstly i have never heard Kirby on a boy. And secondly i think Ruby and Toby are both horrid!
Nevaan -sounds girly
Flori Jean Elizabeth (Cathal Robert Gerard) -Elizabeth and Robert are the nicest names here.
Zyon Brianna. -dont like Zyon.
