Seattle
I was talking with some people today about names and one said that she really liked the name Seattle Grace after the hospital in Grey's Anatomy. At first I thought that this was really tacky, but then I thought maybe not. WDYT? Is it super tacky?

Seattle Grace as a namesake is pretty lame. Actually, Seattle as a girls' first name reminds me of Seattle Sutton:

Chief Seattle . . . . . . was a wonderful leader and might make a nice role model for a boy. http://www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chief_SealthBut I'm not into boy names on girls so I have to say a big "No" to Seattle Grace.Overall, it's just not an attractive name to my ears, and I say that as an almost 20 year resident of the city.

More than super tacky!1) Seattle is not one of the more attractive would-be place-as-names.2) Naming you're kid after a hospital in a TV is criminally odd, and very insensitive to the child.

Oh dear God, please no.I love Seattle, I live about a half-hour from it (and used to live there), but it's a great place. Don't use it as a name. I don't know anything about Grey's Anatomy, but Seattle is a place, not a name. :(

Seattle Grace is really cute imo. I don't know if I would name my child after a hospital on a tv show, but it is a cute name so why not? :)

I like Seattle

Yup, extremely tacky. Plus, if the girl is being called Seattle as her first name, I can only imagine what a bunch of 15-year-old boys would make out of her name and the movie "Sleepless in Seattle". :-(

Yes. Superbly tacky IMONaming your child after a fictional hospital? It just seems silly.

I'd say yes. Seattle just doesn't sound like a person name to me, and naming a child completely after a (fictional) hospital is a no-go for me.
