Annemarie or Maria?
Annemarie or Maria? I love both, and I can't decide my favorite. I know I can only use one, but both names I have a person I would like to use after. So, which is your favorite and why?
Side question:
I know there are many different spellings of Annemarie, such as Anne-Marie or Ann Marie. Do you think it would be misspelled a lot?
Thanks.

I like both, actually. I was just thinking today how much I like Annemarie (this spelling only--the most common one, I believe), and though I do love Maria as well, Annemarie is a little less common, I think.
ETA: The more I think about it, the more I'm remembering how much I love the sound of Maria. I don't think she'd end up being one of 5 in her class, so perhaps it's not too, too popular. ;)

Personally, they are not my style. They seem old-fashioned and not really unique at all. These names are overused! And not in our time. But that's just my opinion. We all have different styles and we all love different names.... Maybe you should try something like Alyssa, Mariah (ma-RY-uh), or maybe Abigail.
I like both. As of today I prefer Annemarie.
I like Annemarie better. I'm not really all into Maria. But you could always go with Ana Maria. Ana Maria is a little popular though (I know a few girls name it, but they are all 12-15 so I don't know the current popularity).
As for Annemarie. I don't think it would get mispelled a lot. I grew up with a girl named Annemarie and she rarely ever got it mispelled. She would occasionally get Annmarie or Annemary, but that's about it.
Anyway, Maria is very popular. It ranked 47 in '06. Annemarie hasn't ranked anything in since the 1990 (and even then it was in the 900s)

I like them both a lot
But I'd go with Maria. Annemarie would be forever misspelled. How about using Maria Anne? That way you could still honor the Annemarie in your life in a way.
