Annemarie or Maria?
Annemarie or Maria? I love both, and I can't decide my favorite. I know I can only use one, but both names I have a person I would like to use after. So, which is your favorite and why?Side question:
I know there are many different spellings of Annemarie, such as Anne-Marie or Ann Marie. Do you think it would be misspelled a lot? Thanks.

I like Maria, but Annemarie has a special place in my heart. =) I think either choice is a good one, but I prefer Annemarie (spelled as Anne Marie or Anne-Marie, though).

I like both, actually. I was just thinking today how much I like Annemarie (this spelling only--the most common one, I believe), and though I do love Maria as well, Annemarie is a little less common, I think. ETA: The more I think about it, the more I'm remembering how much I love the sound of Maria. I don't think she'd end up being one of 5 in her class, so perhaps it's not too, too popular. ;)

MariaBecause it's more solid, more classic, less fussy, and less frilly than Annemarie imo.

Personally, they are not my style. They seem old-fashioned and not really unique at all. These names are overused! And not in our time. But that's just my opinion. We all have different styles and we all love different names.... Maybe you should try something like Alyssa, Mariah (ma-RY-uh), or maybe Abigail.

Um, Annemarie and Maria are overused but Alyssa and Abigail are not? You might want to research that a bit. :-/

I like a lot of more old-fashioned seeming names, I guess. Abigail and Mariah are both nice, thank you!

Annemarie, however, I much prefer Anne Marie, I dislike smushed names.

I like both. As of today I prefer Annemarie.

I like Annemarie better. I'm not really all into Maria. But you could always go with Ana Maria. Ana Maria is a little popular though (I know a few girls name it, but they are all 12-15 so I don't know the current popularity). As for Annemarie. I don't think it would get mispelled a lot. I grew up with a girl named Annemarie and she rarely ever got it mispelled. She would occasionally get Annmarie or Annemary, but that's about it. Anyway, Maria is very popular. It ranked 47 in '06. Annemarie hasn't ranked anything in since the 1990 (and even then it was in the 900s)

Maria by far.Annemarie would get misspelled a lot, which is one point against it.Also Maria is just so much classier to me, Annemarie is slightly-cute-but-mostly-boring.

Maria. Annemarie bothers me for some reason, but probably only because I know a very bothersome Anne Marie. =/Maria, though, strikes me as beautiful. I've met more than a few, young and old, but not enough to worry about popularity. I also love Marie as a first name, just without the Anne. :)

Annemarie is okay, but people would spell it wrong often and MAria is lovely so I would go with Maria.

I prefer Maria, but Annemarie is lovely too. I only like Maria a smidge more. And yes I think Annemarie would get misspelled alot. Well, not really misspelled, just hyphenated and capitalized where it shouldn't be.

I like them both a lotBut I'd go with Maria. Annemarie would be forever misspelled. How about using Maria Anne? That way you could still honor the Annemarie in your life in a way.
