twin names
I am 20 years old and pregnant with twins... my husband who is also 20 knows what the sexes are and I don't want to know... anyways... since I won't let him name the babies (he named our cat Mandangalo-he can give his advice though)...If the babies are girls I want to name them something very feminie and soft like Isabell and Emma... what do you guys think....

The only help I can give is that I have friends whom happen to be twins. Their names are Helena Elizabeth and Maria Francesca. (Helena is pron. huh-LEIGH-na) this seems to fit your classic-ish idea Congratulations!

I think Isabell and Emma would be adorable for twin girls!

Congratulations! They are beautiful names. Yes they are popular but they are popular because they are so beautiful that everyone wants to use them. If you don't mind that they are popular names, I say use them. Also, I like Isabella and Emma together. But Isabel is nice enough.

I'm not a huge fan of Emma, I prefer Emily or Amelia. Isabell is nice though at the moment I'm really liking Sybelle or Sybella.

Congratulations! Isabell and Emma sound lovely together. I really love Isabel (this spelling). Emma is nms, but it is soft and pretty. I don't have a problem with their popularity. If you love them, use them. What about:
Lilia
Anna
Julia
Leah
Amelia
Amelie
Lily
Juliet
Bethany
Olivia
SophieHTH :)

Emma and Isabell are both quite sweet and lovely, and I think they'd be pretty great for twins. They are fairly popular names right now, but I think people on this board might be, on average, a bit more worried about that than the general public. Still, if you want to find more unusual names with that nice soft feel, you've come to the right place. Pay attention to other people's posts for a while, you should get lots of good ideas!

Isabell & Emma are pretty but are becoming so popular I don't know that I could use them! Isobel (spelled this way) is one of my favorite names though but I'd only use it as a mn. Some of my fave twin combos are:Luciana & Lilijana (Lily-ahana I just prefer this spelling b/c it's less common and I think it goes better with Luciana) nn Lucie & Lilley -I don't usually like rhyme-y twin names (even though my boys are Cohen & Keenan) but I love theseEden & Savannah -Marcia Cross named her little girls this and I just think they flow so well together and they are beautiful namesKrystle & Kelsea -if you want the same first letters but not rhyme-y then these are my faves, cute for little girls and great still for grown womenLianna & Genevieve -These are just two really beautiful names imo All of these are feminine and soft and would be beautiful together imoMy first two boys are twins :) good luck!(edited to change spelling of Genevieve I spelled it incorrectly the first time)

Both too popular, but I like Emma much more than Isabell. What about Amelia, Adelle, Bianca, Cecilia, Elsa, Grace, Isadora, Lucia, Susannah?Congratulations on your pregnancy! When's the due date?

Congratulations!Feminine names for girls are fine, but I would shy away from Isabelle (I would shy way away from Isabell, as it looks misspelled) and Emma, because they're so common with young girls nowadays. I'd want to name my daughters something beautiful, but a bit more distinctive. When you strip away all the aesthetic value of names, their real purpose is something to be called for the rest of your life. So I wouldn't use something in the top 10, as that would make this sole functional purpose more difficult - my daughter would be Emma D. or Ava D. her whole life, and when people said "blah blah blah Emma," the other person would have to say "Emma who?" and then a whole other explanation would have to take place, etc etc. (Although I do love Emma and Isabelle, they're two of my favorites, and Emma's my name! :)) Some suggestions for pretty yet distinctive names:Ariana
Adele or Adelle
Antonia
Carolina
Cassandra
Arabella
Cecilia
Clara
Mirabella
Felicity
Juliana
Lydia
Liliana
Marie
Maria
Mary, even
Rosalie
Rose
Rosalia
Leah
Sylvia
Willa
Bianca
Annabelle or Annabella or Anabel or whichever

Isabel and Emma are both lovely names but they are very popular, I like feminine names for girls though and really dislike trendy surnamey masculine sounding names

Isabell and Emma are just too popular for me.

Agreed with all these people

DittoThey're gorgeous names; it's a shame they've become so common. On the other hand, I'd rather see ten little girls named Isabel than one named Madison or McKenzie.

There are plenty of other soft/feminine names that aren't as popular. Just keep looking :]Of course, you shouldn't let our opinions stop you from naming your children what you want.
