Evanna
I just noticed that one of the new Harry Potter actresses (Luna Lovegood) is named Evanna. I'm assuming that maybe that was intended to be a feminine form of Evan, but I may or may not be right about that. Anyway, what do you think of Evanna? I'm really not sure how I feel about it yet. It's definitely better than using Evan for a girl. I'm beginning to fear that Evan will be the next great masculine name to undergo a gender change.

Well, Evanna has been submitted to this site as Irish (twice) and Scottish (once), But I guess it doesn't mean it's right though. I like this name! :)

The is Irish, I think, so that may very well be correct. Thanks!

No problem, actually the only reason I knew was because I'd been searching a few submitted names and came across it yesterday!

Well, whenever I thought of feminizing Evan, I usually went with Eva or Eve, even though they aren't official or anything. Evanna is cool, though.

Evanna sounds pretty to me. I would pronounce it ee-van-nuh.

Yes, I was wondering how to pronounce it, too. I was saying it eh-VON-uh. Though, with the two Ns, it seems like it should rhyme with Anna, perhaps. In that case, I like your pr.

It may also be a form of Ivanna. I think it's pretty, though I'm not sure I care for the spelling.

dittoMy first thought upon seeing it was that it was a misspelled version of Ivanna.
