this may be a clearer description of what Dr.Pepper was asking: LAR-in (the Lar as in Lars) and LOR-in (with the Lor as in lore or low). So they would sound as if they were spelt Larrin or Lauren. And even with my feeble attempt at explanation, they two may still sound exactly the same in your accent. :o)

I understand what you are saying. I prounounce Lauren like LOR-in. Laura and Lora sound the same. Laura and Lara sound different.
